Like a ghost rider T-99 speeds down the highway that ties different exciting music styles together. Carrying in the trunk Tarantino-soundtrack-romance, psychedelic desert-rock, filthy trashcan-bluesboogies and hot midsummer night soul-ballads, this band stomps and twists through the landscape of modern rootsmusic. The route leads over granite-paved roads and through unexplored swampy bayous. And all of this without letting go of the gas pedal.

The Amsterdam-based trio T-99 has a craze for the classical rock setup of bass, guitar and drums, but also loves to handle less known instruments like mandolin, ukulele, boxes and buckets. The magical interaction between vocalist/guitarist Mischa den Haring, vocalist/drummer Martin de Ruiter and upright bassplayer Donné la Fontaine is downright impressive. The strong, mostly self written originals are tasty, provoking and headstrong at the same time.

While T-99 was proclaimed being a great promise a few years ago, it has proven to belong to the absolute top of the Dutch music scene by now. With the release of the debut album “Coo-Coo” in 2001, T-99 knew to convince the Dutch- and foreign press which resulted in a non-stop flow of shows in The Netherlands. With the release of the partly in Amsterdam and Tucson, Arizona recorded CD “Strange Things Happen” in 2004 – with guest appearances of Teddy Morgan (also production), Dave Gonzales (The Paladins) and Jimmy Carr – the press could not find enough superlatives to recommend this CD and copies sold like crazy. At the same time many foreign countries were being conquered. T-99 showed itself as being a constant factor on stages across Holland, Belgium, Germany, France and Switzerland in the past few years. The new album “Cherrystone Park”, produced again by producer/guitarist Teddy Morgan will be released in September 2005 and is being considered T-99’s masterpiece by insiders.

In its existence T-99 has made quite an impression among others at the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague (NL), Eurosonic (NL), Belgium Rhythm & Blues Festival (Peer, BE), Moulin Blues (Ospel, NL), Blues Passions in Cognac (FR), Cahors Bluesfestival (FR), The Rhythm & Blues Night in The Oosterpoort in Groningen (NL), Popkomm in Berlin and was Dr. John’s support act for Dutch shows.
